My Story
GINA DOVER-JAQUES PERSONAL BRANDING

In 2023, telling visual stories of discerning creatives was a very natural choice after previously telling the beautiful stories of couples on their wedding day.
Previously, as a wedding photographer I relished working with chic couples and their families, in stunning gardens in Italy and France, so after the Pandemic, that left me no-longer able to immerse in gatherings, telling visual stories of discerning creatives in the garden industry, and beyond was a very natural transition for me.
I consider myself to be very fortunate to have had a hugely successful 36-year career in the Corporate World working for Global Chocolate Giant, Mars Inc., whereby I travelled overseas, worked with many incredible talents, and was involved in many exciting initiatives.
A recent, beautiful story ...
I love to connect with people, and discover their stories. Recently, I discovered Lisa Timmerman online. Lisa's series of paintings entitled 'koi pool' caught my interest, and after discovering her inspirational story behind the series through her immersive video, I had to see her work in the flesh.
I was delighted to discover that a number of pieces from the series were available through The Rutland Gallery in the picturesque, historical town of Uppingham, in Rutland, not too far from where I live, so the very next day, I took a drive over.

The Rutland Gallery is a beautiful family-owned business born from a longstanding passion for art. Father-daughter duo John and Harriet made my visit a very personal experience, and it was so very lovely to discover their story.
John patiently spent time showing me several pieces from the 'Koi Series and imparted his and Harriet's passion for what they do. Lisa's paintings are filled with light, movement and texture; texture that is created by working with oil paints and cold wax, making. her paintings quite visceral.
I am now the proud owner of the 'Koi study 35', and everyday whilst enjoying this beautiful piece of art, I recall this delightful experience.
