Join me over the forthcoming months, as I create and donate beautiful photographs of a series of National Garden Scheme [NGS] gardens that are open for charity across the UK, in support of the remarkable work of the NGS and their open day garden owners.

The Inspiration

In Autumn last year, I visited Redhill Lodge in Barrowden, Rutland during an NGS open day. Redhill is the creation of garden designers and owners Sue Moffitt and her husband Richard. What they have achieved is truly inspirational.

It was wonderful to witness so many visitors  enjoying the garden; the coming together of garden lovers partaking a beautiful afternoon in a thoroughly delightful and uplifting green space.

Upon returning home, I visited the NGS website to discover more about the scheme. Founded in 1927, and today with over 500 volunteers, plus more than 3,500 gardens, the scheme continues to make a significant, financial difference to nursing and health charities.

I was compelled to support them by creating & donating my photography, in the hope to help draw more visitors to the open days, entice more gardens to join the scheme, and to help funds raised by such a wonderful cause.

Toward the end of 2023, after having created a plan, and passing it by the NGS, I wrote to 50 garden owners, and was thrilled to have heard back from most asking when I'd like to visit.
