a fleeting visit to check out the yew tree garden

I have recently discovered that I am rather quite taken by topiary and yew trees. I visited Newstead Abbey after discovering an atmospheric capture of the yew tree garden by Annaick Guitteny. If you visit her website page named 'winter', you will find it there.

When I arrived, contrary to the forecast, the sky was blue with the occasional wispy cloud. However, much patience, I managed to capture a few images when the sun bobbed behind a cloud.

As for all of the gardens on my list, I intend to revisit in the Autumn when the light is forgiving, and I am hoping for a touch of mist too to add drama.
