- Hickling Basin & Wharf Building -

Hickling Basin, part of the Grantham canal, in the village of Hickling, is a stones throw from my hometown of Melton Mowbray in Leicestershire, and is a super alternative to parkland on my doorstep. Hickling Basin is a tranquil haven in which to gaze upon, ponder, stroll along its canal, and observe wildlife.

The Basin is the only turning point along the 33-mile stretch of the Grantham canal, and is overlooked by The Wharf, which is now a cafe serving delicious bites to eat, and a row of pretty houses, plus pub.

I am so lucky to have this virtually on my doorstep.
