12 MONTHS BEFORE

  1. Set a wedding date

  2. Set your budget. That number will be one of the main deciding factors in determining your venue. If photography and flowers are important to you, then prioritise them in your budget.               More on this soon

  3. Choose your beautician/s for on the day

  4. Decide on the number of guests you would like to have at your wedding. Consider your budget when compiling this list

  5. Choose and reserve venue

  6. Compile your guest list and organize addresses

  7. Send save the date cards, priority to out of town guests

  8. Consider potential wedding planners and day-of coordination help if needed and within your budget.

8 - 6 MONTHS BEFORE

  1. Choose your bridal party and attire

  2. Shop for a dress, shoes, and accessories

  3. Select your ceremony officiant

  4. Book hotel rooms or reserve a block of rooms your guests

  5. Reserve music for ceremony and reception

  6. Select your photographer and videographer

  7. Book an engagement shoot with your photographer. Many couples choose to include a photo on their save the date cards

  8. Set-up your registry

  9. Choose your calligraphy & stationery

  10. Choose and book a florist.

5 - 4 MONTHS BEFORE

  1. Order your wedding stationery

  2. Secure your transportation

  3. Book a hotel room for day of prep and wedding night

  4. Reserve any rentals needed for ceremony and/or reception

  5. Confer with photographer and videographer

  6. Choose a special gift for each Wedding Breakfast guest i.e. mini bottle of Lemoncello!

  7. Book the rehearsal dinner venue

  8. Book your honeymoon

  9. Hire a hair stylist and makeup artist and reserve trials

  10. Book your rehearsal dinner since bookings for larger parties can be difficult to find on short notice

  11. Send out your wedding invitations.

4 - 3 MONTHS BEFORE

  1. Discuss details of menu with venue or caterer

  2. Select and prepare your ceremony service with officiant

  3. Schedule the rehearsal time

  4. Mail out your invitations

  5. To save time and stress after the wedding, write your thank you notes as gifts arrive

  6. Order favors, if desired
  7. Make a list of the people giving toasts
  8. Finalize the readings
  9. Purchase your undergarments 
  10. Finalize the order of the ceremony and the reception
  11. Print menu cards, if you like, as well as programs
  12. Organise Wedding Insurance
  13. Purchase the rings
  14. Finalize the menu and flowers

2 - 1 MONTH/S BEFORE

  1. Purchase a guest book

  2. Obtain your marriage license

  3. If you intend to change your name, prepare the necessary documents to do so

  4. Send a change of address information to post office

  5. Final dress fitting with veil, shoes, and accessories

  6. Prepare a seating plan

  7. Confirm final guest count with vendors

  8. Prepare toasts for rehearsal dinner and wedding reception

  9. Don’t forget to break in your wedding shoes indoors

  10. Finalize speeches and itinerary.

THE NIGHT BEFORE

  1. Drink plenty of water

  2. Get an early night

  3. Toothbrush

  4. Hairbrush

  5. Wedding night lingerie (FYI, there's every chance you won't have the energy to put these on until you're on honeymoon, but it's good to be prepared!)

  6. Heavy duty make-up remover - oil based ones are great for lifting layers of makeup.

  7. Cotton wool

  8. Deodorant

  9. Second day outfit

  10. Second day underwear

1 WEEK BEFORE

  1. Check in with your vendors

  2. Try on your gown/attire

  3. Practice your vows

  4. Keep your beauty routine simple

  5. Finalize the outstanding details

  6. Pack your day-of necessities 

  7. Have a Manicure & Facial
