Colours are rich & authentic, there is a softness to film through its dreamy grain, it has an incredible dynamic range, so details in skies are not lost, for example, and because film has depth, it sometimes feels as though you could almost reach into a photograph.
Film & film cameras are a delight to work with. Film lives and breathes and is tactile. It was the perfect medium for my wedding photography, and transitions wonderfully over to my garden & floral photography.
I work with Kodak Portra for its charm and incredible detail. I create only on film, am delighted to see more creative photographers are doing the same, and to hear that film is undergoing a renaissance.
